Training


AIM: The aims of the dog training classes are to have fun and to produce well behaved, socialised pet dogs and informed, capable, responsible owners. This will help keep dogs and their owners together for life, sharing a wonderful relationship.
The Introductory Program
An introductory training program for dogs of all ages
4 lessons over 4 weeks
1 hour sessions
Venues - two venues: University of Wollongong (East Campus) and Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre
Class size - maximum of 4 dogs (Thirroul) and 8 dogs (Wollongong)
Cost $80 total; bookings essential

By the end of the program your dog should be able to:
respond to their name and make eye contact with mild distractions
sit for greetings and permission
come when called
lay down and stay briefly when asked
show increasing self-control
walk nicely on a loose lead
have nice street, cafe and car manners
In addition, attendance at class should help socialise your dog with other dogs, adults and children.
Please note, however, that direct interactions with other dogs is not part of the introductory class and your instructor will manage other dogs so that they do not interfere with your training efforts.
