DR SUSAN RHIND

Susan Rhind is a wildlife and conservation biologist who has special interest in and experience in animal behaviour and training. Since the early 1990s she has undertaken behavioural research on dolphins, monkeys (in Africa) and Australian marsupials and she completed a Ph.D at Murdoch University (WA) in 1998.

For the past few years Susan has increasingly focussed on the welfare of captive and domestic animals, and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Captive Vertebrate Management (Charles Sturt University) in 2006. During this time she helped with behavioural studies on elephants and otters. Susan has 4 years of University lecturing experience and before studying science trained to be a biology teacher.

Susan also holds a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services (Canine Good Citizen).   This two year course is the most highly respected, and internationally well recognised qualification in dog training instruction. In Australia it is conducted by the Delta Society and Susan is an accredited Delta CGC Instuctor and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.  

Susan and zoologist partner Murray, and Golden Retriever Elsa, moved to Thirroul in 2007. Elsa LOVES the off leash dog beaches.
